Frequently Asked Questions for 6th Graders & New Students

- Our instructional day is from 8:00AM to 3:30PM. Breakfast begins at 7:20AM. Car-riders are dismissed at 3:30PM.

- Please enter CFMS from Dooley Womack Drive and drive to the right. As drivers approach CFMS, 6th graders should be dropped off and picked up on the right side of the building (the side with the basketball goals). 7th and 8th graders should be dropped off on the other side of the building.

- The first day of school is July 29, 2026.
- Registration and schedule pickup for all grades will be July 24, 2026 from 8:30AM-3:00PM.
- CFMS will host an Open House from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, Juy 27, 2026. During Open House, students will receive their class schedule, meet their teachers, and see their classrooms.

- At CFMS, students have 7 class periods and are in each class the same amount of time. You are encouraged to contact any of your student's teachers with questions or concerns. Home Access Center (HAC) is also available to monitor your student's grades and may be accessed here.
- We also use ParentSquare to communicate with families. Learn more about how CFSD uses ParentSquare to help families stay connected to their child’s school community.
- Keep your contact information current at all times. If your contact information changes, please share the updated information with our front office secretary. We use your cell phone number, home number, and email address to send ParentSquare notifications through text, email, and phone calls. The nurse and front office will also use those numbers if your child becomes ill at school.

- Each CFMS department will provide a supply list for each grade. Supply lists are available here and at Walmart.
- Students in grades 6-12 are required to use clear or mesh backpacks while on campus. Each student-athlete may bring one athletic bag for sports equipment or uniforms. However, a regular backpack may not be used as an athletic bag unless it is provided by the District to the student-athlete. Athletic bags are subject to inspection.

- Yes, and a $4 fee for the lock will be due at registration/schedule pick-up.
