Dear CFMS Families, Students, and Stakeholders:

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, I am filled with excitement and optimism for what lies ahead. CFMS is more than a building. It is a family, a community, and a place where every child deserves to feel supported, challenged, valued, and inspired to succeed.

This year, our vision for CFMS centers around five key priorities: strengthening family and community engagement, increasing academic achievement in literacy and math, improving student attendance, building meaningful relationships through the Ron Clark House System, and continuing to grow our culture through the Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) program.

At CFMS, we believe student success happens best when schools, families, and communities work together. We are committed to creating more opportunities for parents and stakeholders to be actively involved in our school community. From family engagement nights and volunteer opportunities to celebrations of student success and community partnerships, we want every family to know they are an important part of our journey.

Academically, our goal is to ensure that every student demonstrates measurable growth and reaches their fullest potential. We will continue to focus on high-quality instruction, data-driven support, literacy growth, and student-centered learning experiences that challenge students to think critically and achieve at high levels. We are committed to celebrating progress while also providing targeted support for students who need additional assistance.

Attendance will remain a major focus this year because we know that students cannot learn if they are not present. We will work closely with families to promote the importance of daily attendance and punctuality while creating an environment where students feel connected, motivated, and excited to come to school each day.

One of the most exciting aspects of our culture at CFMS is the Ron Clark House System. Through our house system, students build leadership skills, develop friendships across grade levels, and experience a true sense of belonging. The house system helps us create a positive school culture where students are encouraged to support one another, celebrate accomplishments, and grow as leaders both inside and outside the classroom.

In addition, we will continue implementing the Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) program to strengthen relationships and build a culture of trust, respect, and accountability. At CFMS, relationships matter. We are committed to ensuring every student feels seen, heard, and valued by the adults in our building. Through CKH, we will continue fostering strong connections that support both academic and emotional growth.

As principal, my expectation is that every member of the CFMS family—students, staff, parents, and community members—works together to create a safe, supportive, and high-performing school environment. The marathon continues at CFMS, I truly believe our best days are ahead of us. Thank you.

Pickup & Dropoff Zones
Use the inside/lefthand lanes (closest to the building).
Students may only exit vehicles in their assigned grade area:
  • 6th Grade Only: Stay to the left, drop off/pick up, then move to the outside lane behind CFMS and turn right to exit.
  • 7th/8th Grade Only: Stay in the passing lane until you reach the back of the building, then move into the inside lane and turn left at the stop sign to drop off/pick up and exit.
  • 8th graders should enter through the door closest to the gym, and 7th graders should enter through the second door.

Safety Reminders
  • The outside/righthand lanes are passing zones only! No student drop-offs or pickups in these lanes.

We know the first few days can be an adjustment. Thank you for your patience and partnership as we start the year strong!

Bell to Bell, No Cell

Arkansas Act 122 requires districts to ensure that students do not use personal electronic devices during school hours, from the first bell to the last.

Devices include:
  • Cell phones
  • Smartwatches
  • Earbuds/headphones that connect to devices
  • Tablets/laptops not issued by the district

This policy:
  • Improves student focus and classroom engagement
  • Reduces cyberbullying, academic dishonesty, and discipline issues
  • Encourages healthy screen habits
  • Promotes safety and equity

Camden Fairview supports the law’s goals and has created a consistent, supportive approach to implementation across all campuses.

FAQs:

What devices are not allowed during the school day?
  • Phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth earbuds/headphones, tablets, and personal laptops.

Can students use cell phones during lunch or in the hallway?
  • No. The law covers bell to bell — including transitions, lunch, restrooms, and assemblies.

How can I reach my child in an emergency?
  • Call the school office. Staff will deliver urgent messages or call your student to the office.

What are Yondr pouches?

Are there exceptions to the rule?
Yes, for:
  • Medical needs (must be documented)
  • IEP or 504 accommodations
  • School-supervised extracurriculars (as authorized)

We believe that every student learns best in a focused environment. Thank you for partnering with Camden Fairview to support this commitment. Together, we are building a stronger and more engaged Cardinal community.
