CFSD Releases Statement on Former Employees

On September 29, 2026, Camden Fairview School District administrators received a report involving allegations that a paraprofessional struck a student. The district took immediate action by removing the employee from campus, contacting the Arkansas State Police’s child abuse hotline and the Camden Police Department, and notifying the student’s family. We also directly notified the families of the other students who were present in the classroom. 

While we are legally required to maintain confidentiality concerning personnel issues, we can share that the employee was immediately placed on administrative leave and resigned on October 1, 2026, as we were conducting our investigation. We also learned that CPD arrested the employee yesterday. A second employee who was present during the incident was also immediately placed on administrative leave. While this employee was not directly involved in the incident, we believe the employee did not meet the District's high standards in ensuring student safety. That employee also resigned on October 1, 2026. 

The District is fully cooperating with law enforcement as their investigation continues. The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority.
