Labor Day Break is next week - No School September 1-5!

This Week is a 1-Hour Early Out Wednesday! On Wednesday, all Camden Fairview schools will dismiss one hour early to allow teachers additional time for professional development and collaboration. This year, Early Out Wednesdays will happen on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

Remember - Attendance Matters! CFMS students should be sure to arrive at school and to each class on time.

Clear bags can be purchased in the office; crossbody bags are $8 and drawstring bags are $5.

Reminders:

Health Immunization Requirements:

Last week, your child may have received a letter reminding your family that your child has immunization requirements to meet this year. Please carefully review the letter and contact your child's doctor or Ouachita County Health Department to schedule their immunizations.

By state law, on September 8, 2025, we are required to exclude from school students who are still lacking immunizations until they obtain their immunizations or an exemption.

  • Kindergarten students must have all required immunizations including 4 y/o shots and a complete physical that includes a review of systems.

  • All students who will be 11 years old by September 1st must have a Tdap shot.

  • All 7th grade students and students 16-years-old by September 1st must have the Meningococcal vaccine.

Please schedule immunization appointments now with your child's healthcare provider or the Ouachita County Health Unit. The Health Unit's telephone number is (870) 836-5033. More information is available on the CFSD Student Health Services page.

Cardinal Athletic Passes 2025-26:

It's time to show your support for Cardinal student-athletes at every home event - Get your Cardinal Athletics pass this week! Passes are good at all regular season home games.

Adult All-Sports Pass – $100
  • Gets you into all regular season home athletic events.

Student Athlete Pass – $25
  • For CFSD students on a school team in the 2025–26 school year.

Non-Athlete Student Pass – $60
  • For CFSD students grades K–12 not on a school team.

Staff – Show your district badge at the gate for free entry.

Where to Purchase:

Student Conduct. K-5 grade students must be supervised by an adult at all CFSD athletic events. All students, home and visiting, are expected to be on their best behavior while attending any school event. Students will be removed from events if they are involved in any fights, act disrespectfully toward administrators or other school personnel, or if any prohibited items are found on them or in their vehicle. All students must be picked up within 20 minutes of the end of any event

Labor Day Break is Next Week: No School September 1-5!

  • Additional holidays were added throughout the school year. The first week-long holiday is Labor Day from September 1-5!
  • Most months have an extended weekend or week-long holiday.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences for K-5 and 6-12 graders will be on separate nights in the first semester and on the same night during the second semester.
  • 1-hour Early Out Wednesdays will be on each month's second and fourth Wednesdays.

Camden Fairview School District owes a huge thank you to Lockheed Martin for their donation of a 3D printer to the Ivory Intermediate science lab! This incredible resource will give our students hands-on opportunities to explore STEM and bring their creativity to life.

Special thanks to Lockheed Martin employee Justin Jeffery for setting up the printer this week. Pictured with Mr. Jeffery are science teachers Cody Launius and Ariana Lavendier, Assistant Principal Nikki Natt, and Principal Cindy Bever.

After the school day started this morning, one of our school buses was involved in an accident. We want to reassure our families that no students were on board at the time. Our bus driver was uninjured, and we are very thankful for their safety.

We are also thankful to our local first responders for their quick and professional response.

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Dear Camden Fairview Families:

Welcome to a new school year at Camden Fairview Middle School! Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning, we’re so glad you’re here. Our goal is to make sure every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired, and we know that happens best when schools and families work together.

Our handbook is here to help you find everything you need to know about our policies, expectations, and the great things happening in our schools. You can read the full handbook here: CFMS 2025–26 Student Handbook. Here are a few important highlights for this year:

Introducing Soar and Score
This year, we’re excited to offer Soar & Score - a new incentive for strong performance on ATLAS assessments:
  • ATLAS Interim & Summative Tests – If students score a Level 3 or Level 4 on any of the ATLAS Interims, they will earn a day off school as a reward for their hard work and achievement.

Another change for this year is that ALL students will take 9-weeks and semester tests in each class. These assessments help us measure progress, identify areas where students are excelling, and guide instruction to support every learner’s success.

Excessive Tardiness (District Policy 4.9)
Excused tardies: Late bus, doctor’s appointment (with note), accident (with police/principal verification), or medical reasons.
  • 1st Period: Detention starts after the 5th tardy each semester.
  • 2nd–7th Periods: Detention starts after the 2nd tardy each semester.
  • Daily impact: Every tardy = 1 day of noon detention.
Per nine weeks:
  • 7 tardies → 1 day ISS
  • 9 tardies → 3 days ISS
  • 12 tardies → 5 days ISS
  • 13+ tardies → Principal’s discretion
  • Parents contacted after 3 tardies.
  • 10 tardies to 1st period could lead to a possible FINS petition.

School Events & Student Pick-up
  • Students must follow school rules at all events.
  • No fighting, disrespect, or possession of drugs/weapons.
  • Students must be picked up within 20 minutes after events.
Consequences for late pick-up or misconduct at events:
  1. Warning + parent contact
  2. Banned from next 3 games/events
  3. Banned for remainder of season
  4. Banned for remainder of year

Food & Drink During School Hours
Students may not have food, drinks, or gum in the hallways or classrooms. Students are not to carry food or drink from the cafeteria into the hallways. However, students can drink water out of a clear water bottle or clear container with a lid. Students cannot have water near any computer or electronic devices. 

Phone-Free & Focused: Bell to Bell, No Cell Reminders. Please carefully review the electronic devices policy and note that parents/guardians/students are responsible for replacement fees for damaged/lost Yondr pouches.
Updates to Policy on Fighting, Assault, and Related Behaviors: Camden Fairview Middle School is committed to keeping all students and staff safe. Fighting, assault, threats, or behavior that could be seen as threatening are not tolerated. 

Consequences for Fighting/Assault/Battery:
  • 1st Offense: 5–9 days out-of-school suspension and/or alternative placement; loss of extracurricular privileges; required parent/guardian conference.
  • 2nd Offense: 7–9 days out-of-school suspension and/or alternative placement; loss of extracurricular participation; required parent/guardian and superintendent conference; possible expulsion recommendation.
  • Subsequent Offenses: 10 days out-of-school suspension.

Severe Cases: Consequences may be increased up to expulsion (for example, striking a staff member or refusing to comply with school staff or law enforcement).

Students guilty of an offense under this section may be subject to legal proceedings in addition to student disciplinary measures.

Aiding & Abetting a Fight: Students who encourage, record, share, or plan a fight - or move to an area they should not be in to watch a fight - will also face discipline:
  • 1st Offense: 1 day ISS + parent conference
  • 2nd Offense: 3 days ISS + parent conference
  • 3rd Offense: 3 days OSS + parent conference

Camden Fairview Student Dress Code – Key Points for Families
At Camden Fairview, we want all students to feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn. Here’s what families need to know about our dress code and District Policy 4.25 on student dress and grooming.

General Guidelines
  • Clothing should be safe, appropriate, and not disrupt learning.
  • Parents will be contacted to bring alternative clothing if a student is dressed inappropriately.
  • Administrators may decide if an item is inappropriate or disruptive.

Items & Styles Not Allowed
  • Length: Shorts and skirts no more than a dollar bill’s width above the knee.
  • Leggings: Allowed if the shirt completely covers the student’s bottom and neither is see-through.
  • Pants: No sagging. Holes/rips above the knee must be covered with non-see-through material.
  • Tops: No spaghetti straps, low-cut tops, or exposed shoulders, backs, chests, midriffs, or sides. Only small “keyholes” above the shoulder blades are allowed.
  • Shoes: Must be worn at all times. No pajamas, loungewear, or house shoes.
  • Headwear: No sunglasses, hats, and head coverings inside (hoodies OK if hoods are down).
  • Headbands/Sweatbands: Cannot cover ears.
  • Blankets: Not permitted in the building.
  • Images/Words: No clothing that displays:
  • Sexual or suggestive content
  • Drugs, alcohol, or gang references
  • Vulgar or inappropriate language/images

Dress Code Applies to All School Activities
  • These rules apply during the school day & at all school-sponsored events and trips.

Dress Code Tip for Families: Check your student’s outfit before school to make sure it meets length, coverage, & image guidelines. Students will need a change of clothes if they aren’t in compliance with the dress code.
 
We began counting tardies on August 7. Be sure to arrive at school and to each class on time. #AttendanceMatters

Admission to all Camden Fairview athletic events is $6.00. The dress code for school is the dress code for games. Remember the clear bag policy for all athletic events. Students must be picked up within 20 minutes of the end of any event.

The back to school dance was a success! Ms. Davis, Mrs. Dodds, and Mr. McClain want to extend a special thank you to everyone who chaperoned and made the dance a great event for our students.

Check Out the 2025-2026 District Calendar:

  • Additional holidays were added throughout the school year. The first week-long holiday is Labor Day from September 1-5!
  • Most months have an extended weekend or week-long holiday.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences for K-5 and 6-12 graders will be on separate nights in the first semester and on the same night during the second semester.
  • 1-hour Early Out Wednesdays will be on each month's second and fourth Wednesdays.

Health Immunization Reminders:


  • Kindergarten students must have all required immunizations including 4 y/o shots and a complete physical that includes a review of systems.

  • All students who will be 11 years old by September 1st must have a Tdap shot.

  • All 7th grade students and students 16-years-old by September 1st must have the Meningococcal vaccine.

Please schedule immunization appointments now with your child's healthcare provider or the Ouachita County Health Unit. The Health Unit's telephone number is (870) 836-5033.

Location: Camden Fairview High School Gym
Entry Fee: $5.00 per person

Join us as our 7th–12th grade Cardinal Volleyball teams face off in our Red & White Games! This exciting scrimmage is the perfect way to kick off the season and show your #CardinalPride.

We’ll also be collecting donations at the door to support our volleyball program:

  • Sports towels
  • Sports drinks

GAME DAY IS ALMOST HERE, Cardinal Football Fans!

The first home game of the 2025 season is THIS Tuesday! Come pack Cardinal Stadium as our Camden Fairview Cardinals face off against the Bryant Hornets in varsity and 9th grade benefit scrimmage games.

Cardinal Golf Brings Home 2nd Place!

Our Cardinals had a strong showing in Arkadelphia on Tuesday, finishing 2nd as a team! Special shoutout to Nick DeLuca, who shot the lowest individual score of the tournament with a 39!

The team is back on the road Monday at Nashville and Thursday at Magnolia – good luck, Cards!

Season Starts This Week for Cardinal Tennis!

Good luck to Cardinal Tennis and Coach Mazze Nelle as they begin their season this week! They'll be traveling to Hope on Tuesday and Hampton on Thursday.

Announcements:

CFMS Back to School Dance is This Friday, August 15!

The CFMS Back to School Dance is scheduled for Friday, August 15, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the cafeteria. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased by Thursday, August 14. The dress code for the dance is the same as the dress code for school.

Parents/guardians, we'd love for you to join us Friday night as chaperones! Complete the sign-up form on this post, or call the CFMS Front Office at 870-836-9361 by Thursday, August 14.

Domino's Pizza Fundraiser begins on Tuesday, August 12!

We are excited to announce that today we are starting the Domino’s Pizza Fundraiser. The money raised will go towards year books.

Once you register, your child will be able to pick their prize and share their very own store link! Once the fundraiser is complete, they will receive the prize they selected from the highest level they qualify for.

When a customer clicks on your link, it will take them directly to your child’s store to purchase a card, and we will send the card directly to them. Using your personalized link will ensure your child is given credit for the purchase.  

Also, once you register you will have two chances to earn a $50 gift card! The registered student with the most cards sold ONLINE by Monday (8/18/25) at 10:59 p.m. CST will win a $50 Gift Card (when our group sells at least 100 cards online).

Admission to all Camden Fairview athletic events is $6.00. The dress code for school is the dress code for games. Remember the clear bag policy for all athletic events.

Clear bags can be purchased in the office; crossbody bags are $8 and drawstring bags are $5.

Cardinal Spirit Fundraiser

Camden Fairview Students, Athletes and Supporters, it's Cardinal Spirit Fundraiser time! Contact any CFHS Varsity Cheerleader to be featured on the Cardinal Walk.

  • One person's name: $20
  • Two people's names: $25
  • Money due August 29, 2025

All proceeds will go toward CFHS Varsity Cheerleaders. This may include props for pep rallies, game day favors, and/or snacks and water for games.

On Wednesday, August 13, all Camden Fairview schools will dismiss one hour early to allow teachers additional time for professional development and collaboration.
